Matthew Waller Named Chief of Staff for Campus Life at the University of Chicago
K&A enthusiastically congratulates Matthew Waller on being named Chief of Staff for Campus Life at the University of Chicago. As Chief of Staff, Mr. Waller coordinates high-priority operations and projects across the Office of Campus and Student Life in pursuit of its mission of supporting and enriching the lives of students, faculty, and staff at the University of Chicago. In this position, he holds responsibility for managing the Office of the Vice President for Campus Life and Student Services.
Prior to joining the University of Chicago, Mr. Waller served for five years as Director of Communications and External Affairs, University Life at the University of Pennsylvania. In this role, he prioritized and advanced the strategic initiatives and interests of the University of Pennsylvania’s University Life division, advised senior administrators, and directed University and divisional outreach. His professional portfolio incorporates diverse experiences in secondary and higher education, as well as multimedia production.
Mr. Waller previously served at the University of Central Florida as Coordinator, Publications in the Division of Graduate Studies. He also served as an instructor for language arts in Orange County Public Schools in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Waller has held numerous creative design and multimedia positions including creative director, film and video producer/editor, and assistant editor for various design, video, and publication firms.
Mr. Waller earned his M.S. from the Syracuse University, S.I. Newhouse School of Publication Communications in Television-Radio-Film, and his B.A. in English—with Honors—from Vanderbilt University.
