What Is Provided Learning Reconsidered I and II: Born in response to increasing calls for accountability in higher education and reports from academic organizations about the role of liberal education in our democracy, the Learning Reconsidered projects represented an explicit reframing of the nature and process of learning in college that allowed student affairs organizations, the profession of student affairs itself, and student affairs divisions and professionals on many campuses to claim new and essential roles in the work of the academy. Working closely with NASPA and ACPA, K&A led the creation of both volumes in the series -- serving in a complex role that included research, policy development, writing, editing, and representation in national meetings and multiple campus professional development workshops. There is now broad consensus that Learning Reconsidered has reshaped the image of student affairs and provided meaningful and convincing message points about its role in learning |
